  5. This is very noble of you to draw the attention to the food problem in the world. There's enough for everybody, but money is spent on the wrong items( arms race, wars )

  6. As I believe I said before, I am no real judge of a haiku - but here is the only one I wrote, some time ago:

    The moth seeks the light
    The temple lamp always burns
    Scales and ash are one.

  14. So glad you stopped by! I've added you to my blog role as haiku is one of my very favorite forms of poetry. If you care to, you can look through old posts of mine, you'll find my feeble attempts as haiku.
Love the haiku - and have "played" that freerice game. Must remember to do that regularly.

  29. Thank you for visiting my blog. Interesting sidebar. The choice of Palin was an insult to the qualified Republican women who are out there...but McCain did what he wanted it to do. But is that the true Republican Party? Thanks for drawing attention to hunger...

  30. It was a hunger day; my wife bought one bread from Red Cross' sellers.
    We are eating too much.

Today I visited Helsinki and had a meal in a Chinese place. Some rice, off course, Kikkoman Soya, and something more ...)

Eating too much, sometimes I sleep also too much?

  31. thanks for the comment, rambling woods. :)

i enjoy viewing your photos. :)

i do get the sense that there are people out there who believe that the republican party has moved away from its roots. i like that wick allison does a good job of explaining what to him that party should be about, and why he feels that the party isn't delivering on its promise.

i'm a big believer in checks and balances, and competition, so i'm not one who wishes to see only one party dominate, whether that party be democratic or republican. but i do feel that the republican leadership needs to do a lot of soul searching, because these past 8 years don't appear to have been very good ones, for the american people.

whoever wins in the coming election, i only hope that many of the pressing issues confronting the united states, such as the subprime mortgage crisis, the wars in iraq and afghanistan, disaster preparedness, whether such disaster be man-made or natural, global warming, the treatment of guantanamo detainees, extraordinary rendition, and especially torture, among others, will be dealt with in a principled, prudent, legal and thoughtful manner.
