    I'm curious about "fam'ly", presumably to show pronunciation as famly, with 2 syllables rather than with 3 as in fam-i-ly. I understand the reason for this in the last line. This is an old poetic use of the apostrophe.

    Perhaps I'm naive, but is it commonly used in haiku? I'm not lauching a criticism btw. I like the haiku.
